Drama in Long street c1977.
We all stood there during lunch time watching this chap on the third floor ledge of the YMCA building threatening to jump. The Emergency services, Police and Ambulance crews stood by in the street ready for anything while the police special unit tried to talk him down. After about an half an hour the massive assembled crowd started chanting...Jump..Jump..Jump, which he eventually did. If you live in Cape Town, you know the "Cape Doctor."This south-easterly wind is a regular visitor during the summer months, and is also responsible for the famous "cloth" over Table Mountain.
