This immense statue stands outside the Voortrekker monument situated near Pretoria, South Africa. The monument tells the Afrikaner view of their history upon leaving the Cape Province to move away from British influence, and this statue and other bas-relief statues inside the monument celebrate the role the tough Boer women played in the long trek north. Despite the contentiousness of South Africa's politics, it is an impressive sight.

This photo from Gauteng, East is titled 'Voortrekker statue'.
