We are Wilderness - The wildlife during my two week stay in the Odzala Wilderness Camps (one week with guests, and the next week on a photo shoot for Wilderness) was exceptional. 10 primate species (including chimpanzee and western lowland gorilla) and two bongo sightings were probably the highlights. The bongo sightings were both from Lango Camp ... the first a herd of 15 animals seen in the morning and the second a herd of 4 in the late afternoon. We Are Wilderness - A lone black backed jackal at Nebrowni waterhole in Etosha, attacks and persues an adult springbuck for approx. 6 minutes. A short while later he tries his luck with a sleeping zebra! Any thoughts on whether this could be rabies? Large groups of jackal kill springbuck daily at Gemsbokvlakte, but a single jackal?
