Heritage Day is an important commemoration of South Africa's diverse cultures and is celebrated every year on 24 September. At Wilderness Safaris we observe the Culture C of our 4Cs ecotourism philosophy a month earlier on 29 August. We encourage staff, whether in camps or offices, to wear traditional/cultural outfits or something that represents our cultural heritage. We are encouraged to tell cultural and historical stories, to serve local food and engage in local dancing and singing.
