Shumba Camp - Zambia - Wilderness Safaris

Shumba Camp is perfectly situated to take advantage of the plains game and predator concentrations of the Busanga Plains, being situated as it is within close proximity to permanent water and having easy access to a mix of seasonal and permanent floodplains. Shumba is named after a favourite species in the area - prides of lion sometimes up to 20 strong!

The highlight of our three night stay at Busanga must be the lions of the Busanga Plains. We got to spend a lot of time with the Papyrus pride. We also had big herds of elephants, hippos out of the water, puku and red lechwe, roan antelopes, and not to mention fantastic birding. The best being the rosy-throated longclaw, crowned cranes, African spoonbills, and trumpeter hornbills...
