Kwetsani Camp - Botswana - Wilderness Safaris

Kwetsani Camp is situated in the central region of the Jao Concession on an elongated island covered with palm, mangosteen and fig trees. It consists of five furnished 'tree-house' chalets, each with its own en-suite bathroom, which are an open, airy accommodation of thatch, wood, glass and canvas.

The Jao Reserve has had some good rains in the last week and our area has started to look a lot greener. It is buzzing with great sightings of leopard and hyaena as well as big herds of buffalo and giraffe. The lion sightings have also been great and it looks like very soon we will have another litter of cubs as two of our sub-adults lionesses are looking pregnant.

The last week was filled with amazing action as our pride on the Jao side is back, with the number of cubs now at seven. The missing female was seen this morning with three cubs, adding to the four we posted about last week. The pride on Hunda Island has been keeping us on our toes with zebra and warthog kills and the males being seen on both sides of the Jao Concession. Here’s hoping a good number of the cubs make it to adulthood.
