A Stupa at Wat Ounalom in Phnom Penh: A stupa is a symbol of enlightenment and is one of the most ancient icons of Buddhist art. Stupas are also the oldest and most prevalent forms of Buddhist architecture. More than just being examples of art and architecture, these holy monuments were designed with deep symbolism and sacred geometry. Filled with Buddhist relics, and other holy objects, stupas emanate blessings and peace. Cambodia Hotels and Tours: www.tropicalasiatravel.com

The driver is heading towards the Japanese bridge in his open-top Suzuki jeep. His foot is most likely hovering over the brake pedal, as the motorcyclist appears to be pulling out into his path. Barefooted Buddhist monks walk beside the road holding umbrellas aloft to provide shade from the intense sunlight. Cambodia Hotels and Tours: www.tropicalasiatravel.com

A Cambodian woman sits behind the rider, wrapping her arms around his waist for stability. She is heading to Wat Phnom with a cage full of small birds, held in place by a piece of string looped around her right shoulder. They enable her to make a living, as Buddhists pay a small fee for their release - usually 3000r (75 cents) per bird. A peanut vendor stands beside his bicycle with hand on hip outside the Russian market in Phnom Penh. His body language maybe a sign of frustration from lack of sales (evident from the full basket) Customers are opting for something which will quench their thirst, as daily temps hover around 37c. It's not all doom and gloom for the peanut seller, as the peanuts are very popular during the evenings at the cities many bars and restaurants. They are absolutely delicious with a nice cold…

Sunway Hotel - Cambodia Here's a photo I took earlier today of the Sunway hotel in Phnom Penh. I was attracted to the pink coach (bus) parked outside the main entrance, as I thought it complimented the beautiful blue sky and surrounding greenery. The hotel is located next to the famous Wat Phnom park and across from the US Embassy. The riverside is just a 5 minute walk away. --- Cambodia Hotels and Tours: www.tropicalasiatravel.com

The rider is delivering freshly baked baguettes to local restaurants throughout the city. They are transported in a large wicker basket which is strapped to the motorcycle seat. There is barely enough room for the rider to sit, so he has to adopt a position similar to that of a ski jumper - straight posture and leaning forward. His legs are spread, enabling him to balance the load. The price of a plain baguette is 800-1000 riels (25 cents / 15 pence) Website: www.tropicalasiatravel.com
