“My garden is my most beautiful masterpiece” - Monet. Gardeners work with Nature, which I will illustrate in this album: The great masters are artists who are inspired by nature, creating an art work. They don't imitate nature. The album is part of a a series of platforms for our Virtual Art Museum. Best to read the album in chronological order, Garden of Eden, as I posted from the 1st bottom right moving upwards. www.hennieboshoff.co.za facebook.com/villakruger @Twitter: villakruger
Geranium, Villa Kruger “Long experience has taught me that people who do not like geraniums have something morally unsound about them. Sooner or later you will find them out; you will discover that they drink, or steal books, or speak sharply to cats. Never trust a man or a woman who is not passionately devoted to geraniums.” ― Beverley Nichols, Merry Hall

119 Villa Kruger Garden. Photo by Wilhelm Vincent. Flowers are presented through their shapes and colours, and thus appeal to man through his earliest symbols and are redolent of his primeval and natural state. The initial flower bed is oval-shaped (womb-shaped), and its erotic stalk imagery ("stalks rise with tongue-shaped leaves") suggests the garden is a place of fertility - Virginia Woolf
