Ruby Bridges was the first African American child to attend an all white school in 1960. As soon as she got into the school, white parents walked into the school and pulled their children out. Every day she had to walk through a crowd of racist people throwing things at her and shouting threatening comments. With the help of family support at home, she was able to face the crowd each day. She remained brave, continued to attend her school, and she is being remembered today because of it.
