The Hexagons - Giant's Causeway is an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, the result of an ancient volcanic eruption. Located in Northern Ireland, it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986. The tops of the columns form stepping stones that lead from the cliff foot and disappear under the sea. Most of the columns are hexagonal, although there are also some with four, five, seven or eight sides. Image by Thomas Mader.

Stone of the Pregnant Woman - The BaalBek Block - A huge block, considered the largest hewn stone in the world, still sits where it was cut almost 2,000 years ago. (Some say 12,000 years ago) Called the "Stone of the Pregnant Woman", it weighs an estimated 1,000 tons. Not even our biggest and best cranes in modern times could lift this stone block, so how on earth was it moved to its present position?

People have been known to disappear, strange lights have been seen, and the wind seems to speak. There is always a feeling of being watched....
