I treasure the old and worn and refashion them into little textile collages in my attic studio in a converted manse in Northumberland, England. Everything I make is individual and unique. This little wren is hand appliquéd and embroidered on to a support of an old patchwork quilt fragment. I have used some cotton fabrics for the appliqué and hand turned the edges. A very fiddly job! I have enhanced the appliqué with hand stitching.The collage is then sewn on to a piece of mount board to make...
