"Beware the ides of March." - William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar: Act 1, Scene 2. "The Ides of March" is an old-fashioned Roman way of saying March 15th. Each month had its own Ides, typically on the 13th or 15th day. It wasn't until Shakespeare's tragic play Julius Caesar that the phrase took on a more ominous overtone. Modern stories that feature this quote are often tales of political betrayal. Check out Shakespeare's classic play from http://www.gutenberg.org/.
