I like this idea for the beginning of grade 4 social studies (Alberta). Have students create an all about Alberta art project to represent the various landforms of the province. Research as a class, create a visual anchor chart with details and then have students put them together in one circle. On the outside have them add things that are specific to them and their lives (still topography and landforms).
