I think this just solved the need to find giant rock slabs for landscape stairs down our hillside. Not only would these thick footings hold the material in place (if pre-fowled) by they would create a series of miniature retaining walls resisting much of the winter upheaval! Concrete is cheap, would just have to price the rebar...
