Elephants are some of the largest creatures in the world. They are also known to be extremely intelligent. The saying that someone has the memory of an elephant means that they can remember just about anything and should be taken as a compliment. For the most part these are gentle animals but they will attack if they feel themselves or their offspring are in danger.
Rhinos are critically endangered animals that look like they haven't changed much since prehistoric times (though of course they tended to be a lot woollier back then!). Although poached nearly to extinction, conservation efforts and habitat protection are starting to make a small difference to the fate of these magnificent animals.
Leopards are the smallest of the big cats — averaging 28 inches (71 centimeters) at shoulder height — but they're also the most successful. They're stealthy hunters and resourceful scavengers, and they can adapt to almost any environment.
