Elf house on a tree! That would be cute in the garden, especially in the tree over grown with ivy. How about some battery tea lights in the windows during outdoor parties. I hear the fairies/elves whispering "home school project" in my ear.
Hanging lights on branches. Go natural with a fat branch and hang a combination of ornaments and candles attached with wire. Use twine or strong fishing wire to suspend the branch from above. You might want to try hangers so as not to damage your ceiling.
DIY Centerpieces - Glass cylinders diff sizes), twigs of your choice (let dry out before using) rocks on the bottom. Tie twigs to a washer to hold down in the water. Top with a floating candle. The glass magnify& the branches and it looks amazing!
