Hohenheim was the first of the Parktown mansions when completed in It was demolished in 1972 when the Johannesburg Academic Hospital was built.
Dunluce, or Lillianville as it was first known, is a typical late Victorian house with wooden facade and much of the original furnishings. The name means “strong fortress” and is named after Dunluce Castle in Northern Ireland. The house was designed by D W Greatbatch and built in 1897 for Gustav Bonas. It is situated in Kimberley, South Africa.
The market is situated in the heart of the town, and is the largest Market Square in South Africa. It is surrounded by many handsome buildings, notably the Post Office, National Building, Sauer's Building. Natal Bank, etc. Market Square was a long, rectangular area, extending from Rissik Street to Sauer Street and bounded by President and Market Streets.
