Ireland From My Lens Photography By Liam Mcnamara - A closer look at the little cottage hidden in The Black Valley in Co.Kerry. Even with the showery conditions over the Valley on the day I visited I still took the time to pause and try imagine how it once looked when it was the centre piece of those living off the land. With my mind racing I could almost hear the unmistakable clattering sound of a horse and trap heading from the cottage down to the lake to fetch water, father and son working on the land surrounded by livestock, the slow rising bellowing smoke of a turf fire that was no doubt the heart of the home where many a story and tale of folklore was told of an evening when the work of the day was done, the homely sent of home made bread made each day to keep the men fed, hard work but paradise 👌 Sadly not much of what once was no longer remains but I'm sure echoes of the past are still heard through the Valley (if only the hills cold talk) | Facebook
