Died of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations in Taquaddum, Anbar Province, Iraq.
Army SPC Melvin L. Henley Jr., 26, of Jackson, Mississippi. Died November 21, 2007, serving during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Assigned to 603rd Aviation Support Battalion, 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died of an undisclosed cause in a non-combat related incident at Camp Striker in Baghdad, Iraq. The incident was placed under investigation.

Assigned to 2nd Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Benning, Georgia. Died in Baqubah, Diyala Province, Iraq, of injuries sustained on June 17, 3005, when his vehicle was attacked by enemy forces using rocket-propelled grenades during combat operations in Buritz, Diyala Province, Iraq.
