Postberg, wildflowers - West Coast - Western Cape - South Africa - this looks as though it's been Photo-shopped and then I remember that nearly all the daisy family (Compositae) originates from South Africa and I stop being cynical!
Aerial view of Simonstown, including the navy, harbour and yacht quays. (I was very lucky to be invited on a helicopter ride over the Cape Peninsula, all the way to Cape Point and then inland to the Cape Winelands.
One of the reasons you should never speed along Sir Lowrys Pass, is the troops of baboons (and babies in summer) which are forced to live in the Helderberg area (they once thrived and roamed the entire section of the Cape Fold mountains).
JUST NUISANCE MEMORIAL. Where: Simonstown, South Africa. In Loving Memory: Just Nuisance is the only dog to ever be formerly enlisted in the Royal Navy. He became an official "Able Seaman" to avoid getting hassled when the navy traveled. The Great Dane kept spirits up among the seamen and was known for easily breaking up drunken brawls.
