I used springy afro twists hair and i have about 24 twists in total. I used some shine n’ jam on my roots and some rubber bands to secure the hair. If you want them tight, you should tie the rubber bands close to your roots, or you can tie them loose if you prefer that way as i did. You don’t have to dip the hair in hot water, it doesn’t unravel. Make sure you twist till the very end.
