How to help your overweight/obese child
As adults our weight status is classified according to our BMI (Body Mass Index) value, but with growing children it is not as simple as that. They are still growing in length and in weight. The easiest method to classify your child’s weight status is to use their BMI for their age category, as set out by the World Health Organisation. Children who are overweight can be bullied easily and can struggle a lot with self-esteem problems.
