Stone stairway up to Karla and Bhaja Cave Temples just outside of Lonavla, Maharashtra, India. Climbing up these steps I knew I was about to reach spiritual heights, and the moments of solitude exceeded my expectations. A slice of heaven, simply.
A man who chooses to serve his days as the guardian of one of the Hindu temples inside the meteor crater landing site of Lonar, Maharashtra, India. As I shot this, he stayed completely still, meditating on energies of the ancient spirits hidden within the high velocity stones, the alkaline water, the echoes in the air and the bending trees.
The first shot I took on a 3 month solo journey through India. I sat at a roadside stall having a spicy 45 rupee meal, when I caught the stunning eyes of this little boy being showered by his mother. His spirit speaks for itself.
The cursed cobra that was foreshadowed by warnings of illness from a palm reader one day before in Hampi, India. In the morning after washing with an elephant in a river, I shot this cobra coming out of the basket of the snake charmer on the staircase of the ghat. One sharp look and it struck my traveling partner with the predicted sickness for three days! A beautifully creepy creature.
Sunrise at the southernmost tip of India in the city of Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu Provence, where three bodies of water meet. An epic scene I shared with hundreds of local people who gather to watch father sun awake and then bathe in the mingling waters to start their day.
