This photo was taken about the fourth day after SADF had attacked Onjiva in Operation Protea.. Bats and Ratels had spent 3 days clearing the trenches of the big Fapla base next to the airport...tons of captured Soviet weapons and equipment was brought together and driven/loaded back to SA.
