The #urethra is a tube that connects the urinary #bladder to the urinary meatus for removal of fluids (#urine in the female; urine & #semen in the male) from the body. [Today's image shows a cross section of the male #penis.] An external urethral #sphincter muscle (along with an internal urethral sphincter muscle in the male) allows for voluntary control over #urination.
