Growing sweet potatoes is surprisingly easy, even for a beginner gardener. Just make sure they receive full sunlight for 6-8 hours each day, and plant them in loose, well-draining soil with plenty of organic matter and a pH between 5.5-6.5. They thrive in warm weather, needing around 90-120 days to mature with soil temperatures over 60°F (16°C). Regular watering, about 1-2 inches per week, is key, but be careful to avoid overwatering.
