A fine example of a plate snow crystal photographed nearly 100 years ago by Wilson Bentley at his outdoor laboratory in Jericho, Vermont. This beauty is referred to as a hexagonal (six-sided), sector-like plate crystal with extensions.
I bought a print similar to this by the Starn brothers from which happens to be one of my favorite websites! Check it out for bright bursts of art in your email inbox every week. For me, it's the email version of getting snail mail.
