Retro Battery Poster

The company's alkaline battery had been around since the 60s under various names but was dubbed the Energizer in 1980. In 1986, Union Carbide sold the company to Ralston-Purina. The cat and the "nine lives" in the logo was for the 9-volt battery and implied that it didn't die very easily.
