Anthem Of The Sun - back cover [1968-0317]

Anthem Of The Sun - back cover [1968-0317]

Back cover of Grateful Dead's American Beauty. My favorite line from the album - "lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it's been." I had wanted to use that as my high school quote. Instead I altered Shakespeare - "Have we eaten of the same insane root that has taken reason prisoner?" from "Macbeth." I changed it to "have we SMOKED of the same insane root that has taken reason prisoner?" but the high school censors would not print it! Damn Boston area Puritans/conservatives!

I am so disappointed in those in my field of classical music who look down their noses on t-shirts & other merchandise & the notion that classical music nouns, verbs, images, photos and scores do NOT belong on shirts, hoodies, coffee cups, beer mugs, wine glasses, headbands, wristbands, etc. I know too many in "art music" who proudly draw a massively thick line between commerce and culture (as if making a lot of money is a bad idea)!
