Built at Westland facility Yeovil,Supermarine Spitfire AR213 is 2nd aircraft to be repainted for Eagle Squadron.One of last Mk I variants produced,this aircraft never saw combat & in new colours masquerades as Mk IIA,serial P7308 coded XR-D,flown from RAF North Weald by Pilot Officer William R.Dunn of 71 'Eagle' Squadron,RAF Volunteer Reserve.He survived the war & served in Vietnam before retiring as Lieutenant Colonel,February 1973.Died February 14,1995.
