Le Haut, Guernsey The garden surrounds a refurbished and extended traditional granite house, set among a network of high-banked lanes. The new design keeps the garden inward looking to provide shelter but with glimpses out at key points to link with the surrounding landscape. Terraces and seating spaces are linked by weathered stone paths through granite retaining walls and planted banks. Designer Debbie Roberts MSGD - SGD2014 = Society of Garden Designers

I LOVE this patio. The side garden used to be a grassy slope, worn ragged by a Slip'N Slide and dog play. Designer Phil Wood used stone for paving, walls and seating to define an outdoor room for entertaining and gathering.
