Franz Taaibosh (back row, left) was captured in the Kalahari Desert by one Captain Hepson. Hepson sold Franz to a man named Samuel Gumpertz with Dreamland at Coney Island. He was named Clico or Clicko after the clicking language of the Bushman. Franz was forced into peonage well into his 60s with various touring sideshows. He is seen here with Dreamland in 1919.
