In Sociology at (secondary) school, whenever our teacher taught about Feminism as part of the course, she apologised and rolled her eyes, and most of the class groaned and complained and laughed a little too hysterically at everything that lesson.
Justifying feminism by how it benefits men is a prime example of the unequal privilege the patriarchy has in society. It helps men, yes. But even if it didn't, is that a valid reason to discount the whole movement?
I am a white Christian and this horrifies me. People, rights are rights no matter what religion, sexuality, gender, race or whatever excuse you wanna come up with for not broadcasting this to the entire world.
We need to look out for each other, especially when these same "good men" are the ones telling us, "I wouldn't do that to you, you shouldn't be complaining about harassment on the streets." Your gut will know a good man; they're real, and they won't ignore your fears about being harassed and stalked by other men.
There are even people who don't know they still exist bc of this
