She served two tours in Afghanistan and one tour in Iraq. As a bomb sniffing dog, Luca saved hundreds of lives until her service was cut short by an IED. She was medivaced off the battlefield and the injury resulted in having her front leg amputated.

In 2010 mwd TREO from 104 Military Working Dogs, St George's Barracks in Oakham, Leicestershire, received the Dickin Medal for sniffing out IEDs and saving the lives of the soldiers he was patrolling with while on duty in Afghanistan.
