The Jeep XJ Versus the new Cherokee - A drawback of the new Cherokee is a lack of wheel travel. Crawling in the new Jeep will often involve lifting at least one wheel completely off the ground, something that is less of a risk in the XJ. The new Cherokee is definitely not meant for more hardcore off-roading applications, but it far outguns vehicles like the Hyundai Tucson and Honda CR-V, which can off-road about as well as a Corvette.
