2012 Su Lei Merlot - Walla Walla - Pepper and blackberries on the nose. Spicy with ripened fruits on the palate. Balanced, dry, and interesting. A good addition to the 2010 Skylite Syrah and 2009 Terra Blanca Cabernet we passed around.

2007 Chateau Prieure-Lichine Grand Cru Classe Margaux - 65% Cab Sauv, 30% Merlot, 5% Petite Verdot Dark ruby with garnet reflections. Intense on the nose with herbaceous green pepper and grassy aromas followed by red fruitiness. Dry, balanced and intense on the palate with light fruits, tart finish. Persistent. Full body. Young...even at 2007, this wine can age for another 5 years at least. BP: Buy

It's dry, warm, soft, quite balanced. Quite persistent, but once again, the alcohol continues through. Full body with dark fruits on the palate. BP: Alcoholic, but worth a try: Buy to try

2012 Cooper Estate Cab Sauv - Red Mountain - Vibrant ruby red with purplish reflections. Spicy on the nose like a peppered BBQ steak. After an hour, some herbal notes as well. On the palate, dry, dark fruits, pepper, well integrated alcohol, balanced. Full body. An excellent example of Cab Sauv from Red Mountain. BP: Buy

On the palate, dry, dark fruits, pepper, well integrated alcohol, balanced. Full body. An excellent example of Cab Sauv from Red Mountain. BP: Buy

Dry, balanced, and intense on the palate with spice, vanilla, wood, complex fruits. My one complaint was that it wasn't terribly persistent. Great wine. BP: Buy

On the palate, it's dry, soft, but not so acidic nor tannic: the alcohol was most prevalent. Med persistence, med body with notes of fruit and toast. Overall, middle of the road. BP: Skip
