Tjalf Sparnaay paints everyday items such as a breakfast, crushed coca-cola can, a fried egg ....takes these items out of the context of their day to day surroundings, enlarging them so the viewer sees their tiniest details. His intention is to “give these objects a soul and a presence”. His style is called 'Mega-realism'.
Equipped with a box of pencils & some carving tools, a Hungarian artist known simply as cerkahegyzo manages to produce incredibly detailed miniature sculptures. Each creation is constructed entirely out of its respective pencil, utilizing the wood & lead as its base & body. Cerkahegyzo uses the fine blades of razors & needles as well as the buffing capabilities of sandpaper, files & polishing stones to whittle & shape his intricate pencil creations.
