This is Nagapushpam flower which blooms only once in 36 yrs. It bloomed today at at Manasarovar Himalayas. 🌏 (naga means snake)

This root holoparasitic plant, Hydnora africana, parasitizing Euphorbia mauritanica (background) in the Richtersveld of South AF, only emerges from the soil to flower. Weird flowers. Looks like somthing from another planet! O.O

Found on what strange planet? Hydnora africana--The plant grows underground, except for a fleshy flower that emerges above ground and emits an odor of feces to attract its natural pollinators, dung beetles.
