If you have empty space above your kitchen cabinets, and your kitchen is small, then here's a storage idea for you. Last Fall I had an epiphany and bought three storage baskets to serve as extra storage above my kitchen cabinets. They serve two purposes:
A beach Cottage Kitchen Shelving displaying beautiful dishes, glassware, vintage scale, & a small island with more storage & gorgeous white flowers. Open shelves down to floor level is an interesting concept. Could do them counter depth.
More and more I am drawn to the simple functionality and beauty of the butcher block countertop. I'd run a length of tile or bead board instead of more butcher block for the back splash I like the sink and faucet.
The Decorating Diaries: Open kitchen shelves NOTE: build shelves with siding cut to right dimenstions - put in the window nook above the sink! only store things in mason jars so they will look pretty with the window behind them! by WeAreAllMadHere
Retro- This interior space is retro because of the playful colors and bold shaped cabinets with curved handles. A principle design that fits this space is emphasis because the bold colors contrast the lighter colored cabinets.
Tiny kitchen: open shelves make it seem a LOT more spacious than it is. Creative and bold design elements: checkerboard floor, butcher block counters, white cabinets, chocolate walls, colorful roman shade accent. I need a checkered floor!
