PROJECT OVERVIEW-PURPOSE: WHAT FUN IT IS TO COLOR, BUT THESE SHEETS ARE MUCH MORE THAN THAT!This lesson is designed to make life easier for the classroom teachers - a simpleway to incorporate "art action" into independent activity time. It will provide thestudent with an experience in art, language arts, writing, and math through simple seasonal coloring sheets, practice papers, and optional challenge pages.
Thanksgiving Facts: On each of these 24 task cards there is a question about Thanksgiving. Students may use books or other sources to find the answers to these common questions. A response form for students is provided. An answer key is given for teachers.
This is a set of twelve worksheets. Students cut the words and then paste the words in the box to form a complete sentence. Then, students write the sentence on the lines provided. There is also a small picture to color. These worksheets are all in black and white to save you colored ink. This can be used as a whole group lesson, or can be placed in a literacy center.
This guided reading unit includes a pre reading schema building activity about Thanksgiving that can be used as a writing word bank later, skill work for sequencing before/during/after reading, story vocabulary activities, character traits, and reading response activities. It's not a large unit, but the pages included would work well to teach and use this book for modeling.
