Mrs. Sarah Strain had the gown custom made at Eaton’s Department store while she was visiting Toronto in 1910. The skirt, which is longer in the back than the front, fits smoothly over the hips, but has an asymmetrical overskirt slanting from the hem to the knee at the side seam.
