Seashells are an important part of the seashore biome. They are a major source of organic deposits. People use seashells for things like basins, lamps, and cutting tools, and the organisms that produce the shells are a food source.
This is a nice photo… I live on the coast and I really like star fish. I always take them back out in the water when I find a living one on the beach (but sadly, it's too late for most). Sea Star Photograph by Samantha Leonetti - Sea.
Starfish by Leon Heyns Underwater shot of a starfish. Shows the underside as well. Due to the depth, color is different underwater and the under-side of the starfish appear more green than the original yellow and red on the top-side.
A hot pink starfish found on a SW Florida beach. Apparently, starfish can be the most amazingly intense colours but they fade quite rapidly when they get washed up. This one can't have been out of the sea for long then!
