Lathyrus pauciflorus--The Utah Sweet Pea is a common pea in the Wasatch. It occurs in stands of Gambel Oak and is easily recognized because of its pink/purple color. Also, notice that the leaves are compound (each leaf has a bunch of leaflets) and those leaflets are always in pairs. This is called an even pinnately compound leaf. Also notice the keel is substantially shorter than the wings. The substantially shorter keel can help distinguish the Utah Pea from the Nevada Pea.
