Beatrice Arthur (Bernice Frankel) (May 13, 1922 - April 25, 2009) American actress, comedian and singer earned this versatile performer both Tony and Emmy awards in stage and tv career. She will be best remembered for her role as "Maude"in her own tv show from 1972-1978. She won her second Emmy in 1988 for her role as Dorothy Zbornak in "Golden Girls" from 1985-1992. She died from cancer and was cremated.
