The Maxin Trio (1949) with Ray Charles, Gossie McKee, and Milton S. Garret - in an odd reworking (obviously for some publicity printwork) of one of Ray's earliest known pictures, with hand-retouche of Ray's glasses, plus clumsy illustrated elements in background and Garret's bass.
During the first tour with his augmented band, Ray Charles (here with Hank Crawford and Phil Guilbeau at McCormick Place in Chicago, on april 8 or 9, 1961) kept his left arm in a sling. He nevertheless played with his "injured left hand"; playing "the organ principally with his right and also relied on his foot pedal work". Photo by Ted Williams.
Is it a Concert? Is it a Concert Orchestra? Or a Dance Orchestra? Is it an Atlantic artist? Or an ABC artist? Poster - showing some positioning challenges - for a Ray Charles . at the Forum in Wichita, on March
