KINGSTON, WA The little city by the sea This quaint town was first named after it's location. Kingston is located along the shores of apple tree cove. This waterfront, cozy town was founded in 1853 by Benjamin Bannister. In it's early years Kingston was a lumber town and, as we mention before, it was originally know as apple tree cove. It wasn't until later (when the mill closed down at the beginning of the 20th century,) that the town change it's name to Kingston Washington.
