Sir Rowland Cotton, Kt. / in 1618 by Paul Van Somer. (baptized 29 January 1581 – died 22 August 1634) English politician, sat in the House of Commons at various times between 1605 and 1629. Son of William Cotton, London draper. Matriculated from St John's College, Cambridge 1596; admitted at Lincoln's Inn 1599. Succeeded his father 1607, inheriting estates in Shropshire and Staffordshire. Lived at Bellaport Hall, Norton in Hales, Shropshire. Married 2x; no issue.
