Fostering responsive and respectful relationships is how educators value children. Like adults, when children do not feel that their ideas and initiatives are valued they become resentful which leads to difficult behaviours in the classroom/workplace. By not honouring their innate drive to play and explore freely we are ignoring their ideas and initiatives.
