WARREN CULTURAL CENTER, Greenfield This former opera house was restored in 2012 to include entertainment, commercial and residential space. The building was originally opened in 1896. The expansive windows, oxidized copper accents and turret are still distinct features of the building, located on Greenfield's town square.
In 1980, His Holiness the Sixteenth Karmapa had a vision that the Crestone, CO area would be an important place where the rich legacy of Tibetan Buddhism would be preserved and passed on to many future generations. He foresaw the creation of a Tibetan monastery, a retreat center, and an entire lay community.
