I took this photo of alpine Lake Wakapitu when I was visiting Queenstown on the south island of New Zealand. To get this shot, I took a cable gondola from the center of Queenstown up to a visitor center atop a nearby peak, which gave beautiful views of the lake.
Haleakalā, or the East Maui Volcano, is a massive shield volcano that forms more than 75% of the Hawaiian Island of Maui. It is also the home of Haleakala National Park. I took this photo from the volcano's summit, looking over the clouds to a neighboring island.
Hot Spring Yellowstone Photography by Phil Welsher Crested Pool is a hot spring in the Upper Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park. The spring is 42 feet (12.8 m) deep. It is named for the "crest" which surrounds the pool.
